Schools, cigarette smoke, and OT losses

School today: major thumbs up. Although the delivery guy? Yeah, the one who has a schedule to keep? Made us move our truck in the middle of loading it so that he could unload his one tray of angelfood cakes? Him? Yeah, you could get rid of him and it wouldn't hurt our feelings in any way.

School yesterday: major thumbs down. Note to high school students - if you are stopping a professional actor who has just traveled over an hour, unloaded a set, performed a well written and directed show for you, and is now loading that set out in preparation for another drive, just to tell that actor, "hey, your show was gay," please know a few things. One, we heard you and your peers shouting that during the entirety of the show, and redundancy is frowned upon. And two, that doesn't make you cool. Trust me, that cast member you informed so kindly about the sexual preference of the show? He's cooler than you. Promise. And he has a job. And manners. So you should probably just enjoy the fact that we got you out of class for 45 minutes, you're welcome!

Also happening in my life is the 2nd big move in less than 6 months. Believe me when I tell you this is not fun. I kind of never want to see another box again. But there are things worse than packing, and I'll tell you what they are: Ubiquitous cigarette smoke that is just getting worse, and a cockroach infestation that was never eliminated from before I moved in in the first place. Faced with a choice, I'm taking the packing. Every day. Complete with full inspection of everything that goes into the new boxes I have, because heaven knows I do not want to be taking any of those little buggers with me. It's great.

Also great is coming back to tie the game on a Jordan Staal goal in the 3rd period against the hated Caps! Not great is eventually losing in a shoot-out because Mike Knuble has Marc-Andre's number and decided to stop thinking up excuses and just call him already. Lame. AND your name make me think of knuckles, Mike. Even lamer. Whoever faces the Caps in the first round, can you please consider this a request to oust them immediately as a birthday present to me?
